Mint Owl Studio: Non-Traditional Christmas featuring Trim the Tree

Hey all and happy Thursday!  Today I am sharing a Mint Owl Studio project with you all featuring the adorable Trim the Tree stamp set and some non-traditional Christmas colors. I just love pink and teal  holiday themes and thought it would be fun to play with on this project!

This type of stamping is fabulous for when you want to crank out a card really quickly!  My family has been busy of late and I had limited time to bust this out but this technique makes it really easy to create a beautiful card in no time!  I used Lawn Fawn inks to stamp the ornament images on some Neenah 110 lb cardstock.  To get the full colored image I simply used the back of the stamp!  How easy is that?

I added some silver accents to all of my ornaments and paired them with some Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Paper.  I love how this sweet and simple card came out and I love even more that it only took ten minutes to create!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I will catch you next time!  Bye!

VIDEO Gerda Steiner Designs: Prismacolors and Gamsol featuring Playful Kittens

Happy happy Friday, friends!  We made it!  To celebrate the arrival of the weekend I want to share an adorable friendship card that I created using the Prismacolors and Gamsol coloring technique on the super sweet Playful Kittens stamp set from Gerda Steiner Designs.

I started with a sentiment that stretched all the way across my card so that I could use the line as the "ground" for my cute little kitties.  Be sure to use a waterproof ink when doing this technique since the Gamsol will smudge it otherwise.  I chose Ranger Archival Jet Black ink.

This coloring technique is super easy and always produces really great results!  By putting your color down around the outside of your image and using your blending stumps and Gamsol to blend in to a lighter center you create a really soft, dimensional look.  Tip: To get the old color off of your blending stumps and to sharpen them keep a piece of fine grit sandpaper handy!

To compliment the sweet kittens I chose a feminine patterned paper from Simple Stories and used both sides of the double sided pattern.  I just love the floral on the inside of the card!

Check out the video tutorial for a comprehensive look at how this card came together!  As always, thank you so very much for joining me and I hope you have a fabulous weekend!  See you again soon!  Bye!

VIDEO Handmade Halloween 2016: Day 3 ~ Collaboration with YouTuber Jasmine Burgess

Hello, all, and welcome to Day 3 of my Handmade Halloween video series for 2016!  Tonight I have a very special treat for you!  I am collaborating with fellow YouTuber Jasmine Burgess to create this fun project for you tonight!

Jasmine and I each created some spooky Halloween backgrounds and then sent them to one another to use on some finished cards.  So Jasmine created a video where she used one of the backgrounds I created to make a super adorable Halloween card (linked at bottom of post) and I used one of her backgrounds for Day 3 of my video series!

I was absolutely wowed by all of Jasmine's backgrounds and had a hard time choosing but finally decided on one that, to me, looked like the perfect Halloween night sky - complete with some toxic sludge smog!!

I had an absolute blast creating this card and can't wait to work with Jasmine on another collab in the future!  Really quick, if you are looking for the MFT Grave Situation stamp set I found some in stock at Butterfly Reflections, Ink and linked it below!  This set is super popular and hard to find so go snag it before it's gone!

Thanks so much for joining me and I'll see you soon with Day 4 of my Handmade Halloween 2016 video series!  Bye!
