Growing in Unity: Day 4 ~ Emboss Resist with Distress Inks

Happy Thursday, all!  Welcome back to another day of my week as Growing In Unity girl!  For Day 4 I have a fun emboss resist card to share with you.  Don't forget to leave a comment to be entered to win 25 random Unity stamps of your very own!  There will be TWO WINNERS - will it be you??

For this card I used the Gypsy Journal Love Myself Today stamp set. This set has so many adorable, doodley images to play with!  They would be perfect for using in a journal, planner or on mixed media. I heat embossed a few of the images and a sentiment in clear embossing powder on a piece of distress watercolor cardstock.  I then masked off the edge and used my Distress Inks to add some grass and sky color.

Using my Distress Sprayer I added some fun water droplets to add texture to the background.  The tulips are colored in with some Stardust Gelly Roll pens.  I finished the scene with some little die cut clouds and popped the whole piece on some pink cardstock to match the flowers.

Thanks so much for joining me today!  Don't forget to check back tomorrow for the final day of my week as the Growing in Unity girl! Leave a comment for your chance to win and I'll see you all tomorrow!  Bye!

Mint Owl Studio: Fuse Tool Shaker featuring Beach Babe

Hello, everyone!  Today I am sharing a super fun shaker card project with you for Mint Owl Studio!  I really wanted to use the adorable new stamp set Beach Babe and I thought it would be fun to create my own patterned paper with all of the little accessory stamps in this set.

I've been wanting to try the technique where you ink up the back of a stamp to apply color to an image.  This was really easy to do and creates a fun color-block look.  I used all Lawn Fawn inks and got great results!  Just stamp the black outline, clean the stamp, then flip it over so the solid back gets inked up.  Stamp over your black lined image and you got yourself a colored stamp!

I used some Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens to add some accents to the images and to color some white cardstock and then stamp the sentiment in white heat embossing on top.  In person these cards sparkle like crazy!

Finally, I cut the piece of 8.5x11 patterned paper I'd created into four panels and die cut them using a stitched die.  I then die cut some regular stamp storage pockets using a scalloped die.  I adhered a patterned panel to a piece of the clear acetate then used my Fuse Tool to put another piece of acetate on top.  I Fused three sides, filled the shaker with all kinds of fun confetti, then sealed the final side for a shaker that covers the entire front of the card.

I had a blast creating these cards!  I hope you all have a great day and I'll see you again soon!  Bye!

VIDEO: Growing In Unity: Day 3 ~ Watercoloring with Zig Clean Color Markers

Hi there and welcome to Day 3 of my week as the Growing In Unity girl!  Today I am sharing a really fun watercolored card with some super sparkly micro bead embellishments!  Don't forget to visit every day this week and leave a comment on each blog post to be entered to win 25 random Unity stamps of your own!!

It was so relaxing to watercolor these beautiful floral images in a loose, free style.  The Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers combined with this gorgeous image made it really easy to create a work of art with minimal effort!

To finish  up the cards I added some fun iridescent micro beads to the flowers!  I had never used micro beads before and was super excited to use them!  I love how easy this was and how great it turned out.  Check out the video to see how I applied the micro beads!

Thanks so much for stopping by for Day 3!  Don't forget to leave a comment so you can get all the chances you can to be one of two winners at the end of the week!  Have a great day and I'll see you all tomorrow!  Bye!

Growing In Unity: Day 2 ~ Fun with Patterned Papers

Hi all and welcome to Day 2 of my week as the Growing in Unity Girl!  Each day this week I am featuring a new project using stamps from the fabulous Unity Stamp Co.!  And at the end of the week I will draw TWO WINNERS from all of the comments left on the blog posts all week and those lucky folks will get 25 random stamps from Unity all for their very own!  Woo hoo!!  In case you missed it, don't forget to check out Day 1 and leave a comment so you get all the entries you can!

For today's post I am using the adorable You Bing Me Joy stamp set. I just love these cherries!  I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to bust out my Dear Lizzy Happy Place paper pad (I'm on a personal mission to use every sheet in this pad because it is just that cute!) and select some fab patterns to accompany this sweet image.  I knew there was a cherry patterned paper in there just calling my name!

When I use multiple patterns on one layout I usually stick to one paper pad since they have already done the hard part and coordinated everything for me.  I have to admit, this type of design is not my strong suit so I love that these paper pads take the guess work out of it for me!  I usually pick one busier paper and then some more solid patterns that coordinate.  Sometimes, just for kicks, I'll see if I can incorporate another busy pattern in a small way - like the fun skinny banner with all the different fruit on it!

I hope you enjoyed today's project!  Don't forget to leave a comment to be entered to be one of TWO WINNERS!!  Check back in tomorrow for  a blog post and video!  Thanks so much guys!  Bye!

Growing in Unity: Day 1 ~ Stamping with Zig Clean Color Markers

Hi there!  Happy Monday!  This week I have the honor of being the Growing in Unity girl!  That means I get to share a project using some fabulous Unity Stamp Co. products every day and at the end of it all, TWO WINNERS will be drawn from all of the comments on my blog posts and you'll each get 25 stamps from Unity!!  How great is that??  This is the first stamp company I fell in love with when I started card making and it is just so much fun to be able to showcase their beautiful stamps.  And the people over there are just the best!

To kick things off I have a nice and simple card to share with you. Sometimes you just need to get a card make, ya know?  As much as I'd love to be able to spend hours on every single card I create, I think it is also a valuable skill to be able to use my supplies to quickly put together fun projects when I'm in a time crunch.  Unity stamps are great for that because they are so detailed and beautiful that they honestly don't need much to make your project perfection!

For this card I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to color directly onto the polka dots border stamp from the Magic of Beginnings kit and stamp onto a Bristol Smooth White card base.  I experimented with lots of fun colors to get a rainbow background.  The beautiful sentiment with dots from the Moments Like These kit was the perfect compliment to my colorful rainbow polka dots!  I finished this simple design with some black sketch lines and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins.  I love how colorful it is!

Don't forget to leave a comment below to be entered for your chance to win 25 random stamps from Unity!  And check back in every day this week to get even more entries!  Thanks so much for joining me today and I'll see you all tomorrow.  Bye!
