VIDEO: Mint Owl Studio ~ Copic Coloring on Vellum featuring Butterfly Kisses

Good morning and welcome to a Mint Owl Studio feature!  Today I have a really fun, summery card using some of my favorite Mint Owl Studio products!

I used Distress Inks and the Honeycomb Dot Stencil (linked below) to create a subtle background for my butterfly.  The butterfly was heat embossed in white on some vellum and then colored with Copic markers to coordinate with the piece of patterned card stock used in the layout.

I really love adding color to vellum.  It creates a very unique look and it was perfection for this butterfly!  I, of course, added Wink of Stella to the butterfly wings because all butterfly wings should be sparkly.

I love how the vellum naturally wants to curl up and so by only gluing the body (which I paper pieced with black card stock) to the card it creates a fluttering effect with the wing.  The hibiscus patterned paper from the Dear Lizzy Happy Place paper pad and some Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh finish off this adorable card.

Don't forget to check out the Mint Owl Studios blog and YouTube channel so you don't miss any of the amazing inspiration from the talented design team and these fabulous products!  Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll catch you next time!  Bye!

  1. This card is absolutely adorable. I love how you fussy cut the bodies and added them to the butterflies, it never occurred to me to do that! LOL Also, I love how you did the inside, I like the inside to have something special going on too!
BTW, I left a tip on YT that I hope you find helpful, it works for me.
