VIDEO: Mint Owl Studio: Coloring with Distress Inks featuring Sweet Treats

Happy Thursday and welcome to another project for the always fabulous Mint Owl Studio!  Today I'm playing with the Sweet Treats stamp set from the June release to create a set of clean and simple thank you cards that took less than an hour to create!  I mean, who doesn't want to bust out six cards in sixty minutes??

I started by using my MISTI to stamp the adorable little candy and super cute sentiment onto six watercolor squares that I die cut using MFT Pierced Square Stax.  Using my MISTI made it super quick to stamp all six of these in no time!  I also stamped the image onto a full adhesive Post-It note and used my craft knife to cut out the candy and create a reverse mask.

My card bases were created from Canson XL cold press watercolor paper since I'm going to be doing a lot of distress inking.  Using a stencil, I created a fun polka dot ombre on the front of each card using only one ink color per card.  Applying more layers and pressure on the bottom is a great way to use less supplies to get the same great ombre look you can get from using multiple inks.  I used the same ink color that is on the front of each card to color the candy for that card.  By applying the reverse mask I could just use my blending tool to color it in super fast!

A spritz of Perfect Pearls over the top and some sparkle and shine and these cards are all done!  Super fast and easy but totally cute!  You just can't go wrong with this Sweet Treats stamp set!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  All supplies used are listed and linked below if you're interested.  See you again soon! Bye!
