VIDEO: MFT Color Challenge #40 featuring Somebunny

Happy weekend (or almost weekend) to you all!  I am pretty stoked because I finally signed up for an InLinkz account so I can put the awesome pictures of the supplies I'm using in my blogs!!  After much research I am feeling quite accomplished at having figured out how to do this all by my lonesome.  My hubby likes to say that I put out a force field that fries electronics because I am just that bad with them so anytime I can learn a new techy trick I feel pretty darn fancy!

For today's project I wanted to participate in the MFT Color Challenge #40.  I think this particular color palette is divine and perfect for Easter.  I decided to use a kraft cardbase so I could scratch that color off the list and create a top-folding card.  This design is unique in that the top flap of the card is trimmed short using a Lawn Fawn Stitched Scalloped Borders die.

I used a sheet of Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid paper (I love this paper!!  I bought two pads when I saw it at the craft store because I was afraid I would use it too fast and they would run out before I could get more!) and adhered it to the inside of my card base.  I then took some Neenah Solar White and trimmed it slightly longer than the front flap with another of the dies from the same set.  Now I have my white covered, too!  When the card is closed you get a cool layered look and when you open it there is a nice white surface to write your message on at the top.  Pretty slick!

I stamped some of the adorable bunnies from the My Favorite Things Somebunny stamp set using my MISTI and colored them in using Prismacolors.  I'm really inspired by Julia from Just One More Card and her stunning coloring with colored pencils so I've been practicing with mine.  I used the final two colors from the challenge to color in the little dresses.  For the bunnies I used PC1054, PC1052, PC938, and PC993 for the cheeks.  The peach dresses were colored with PC921, PC1001, and PC927.  I used PC905, PC920, and PC289 for the mint dresses and finally, PC1074 and PC1072 for the shadows on the ground.

I had a blast making this card and learning how to create the snazzy supply list below!  Go enter the MFT Color Challenge #40 before it closes!  I hope you guys enjoyed and I'll catch you next time!  Bye!
