VIDEO: Copic Coloring & Masking featuring Neat & Tangled Better Together

Happy Sunday afternoon, friends!  I have been a crafting fool this weekend!  We are getting some late May rain showers here in Oregon so it's been the perfect excuse to hunker down and play with some goodies that have been woefully neglected.  Does anyone else order stuff that is a MUST HAVE RIGHT NOW item and then find that there just aren't enough hours in the day (week, month, etc.) to play with it all?  I have so much good stuff just begging to be created with and it's been fun to go shopping in my own stash and discover all the wonders waiting there!

So I used this amazing stamp set from Neat & Tangled that has been patiently waiting for some attention to create a set of three cards.   To get started I used the Basic Die set from Mama Elephant to cut out some panels and frames from Neenah card stock.  I chose to do inlaid die cutting for these cards but you could use the two die cuts separately also (that makes more sense if you watch the video below).

Using my MISTI I stamped the three little kids and their sentiments (I love the fonts in this set!) using Memento and then masked the kiddos off using some masking paper.  I then inked over the new MFT One Way Chevron stencil with some fabulous Distress Ink color combos to create the fun pattern behind each image.  The frames were inked up with the same Distress Inks and then splattered with a little water to add some detail.

Don't let that water sit too long on the Neenah or your paper will wonk out a bit.  Also, leave the masks on for the splashes so that the Memento ink doesn't bleed too much.  It is pure magic when those masks are peeled up!

All of the images are colored with Copic markers.  The images are really the star of this show so I took a lot of time to give the coloring a little extra TLC.  I think the result was well worth it! A few Sparkling Clear sequins, white highlights, and Wink of Stella complete these cute cards!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I've got another couple of videos filmed and some fun stuff happening in June that I can't wait to share with you all, including a new design team spot and a couple of guest designer spots!  Yay!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!  Bye!

  2. These are so sweet and I agree that if you have everything out AND a design you are happy with, its easier to make multiples then.
