Hi there! Welcome to a Mint Owl Studio feature! Today I am making a treasure map using the adorable new stamp set A Pirate's Life by Mint Owl Studio and Copic Coloring on kraft cardstock!
The key to using you Copics on kraft is to let the colors dry before adding too much shading. The colors dry very differently than they look wet so in order to get a true idea of what shade they will be it is worth the extra drying time. I have printed out my Sandy Allnock Hex Chart (linked below in the supplies) on both Neenah card stock and on kraft so that I have a good idea of what my Copics will do on both papers.
It was a lot of fun to distress the heck out of these little maps that I stamped out using the A Pirate's Life stamp set (with a little help from Butterfly Kisses . . . watch the video to see which stamp I snuck in from that set!). The result is a fun, vintage treasure map straight out of The Goonies!! I'm from Oregon, so naturally I assume all treasure maps lead to One-Eyed Willy's ship.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Don't forget to stop by the Mint Owl Studio blog and see all of the great inspiration created by the uber talented design team using the new May release! See you soon! Bye!
