VIDEO: Paper Smooches December Guest Designer ~ Week 1

Happy Wednesday, all!  Today I am sooooo excited to share my first project as the December Guest Designer for Paper Smooches!  Every month this fabulous company gives cardmakers the opportunity to submit projects featuring Paper Smooches products for a chance to win a guest designer spot for the following month and I am so honored to have been chosen!  If you're interested, the search is on for the January Guest Designer and you can submit your creations on the Paper Smooches blog.

For my first project I decided to create my own patterned paper using the super versatile sentiment set Delightful Greetings from the December release!  I stamped a couple of the sentiments in VersaFine Black Oynx ink all over some Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock and then heat embossed over the top with clear embossing powder for some extra shine.  I then used the "ink smooshing" technique and my favorite Distress Ink color combo to add some bright color over the pattern I'd created.  I love the way the ink smooshed onto the Neenah.  Since it isn't watercolor paper it didn't soak in as fast and allowed for a more splattered look.  I did dry the ink using my heat tool in between colors.

My sentiment is a great contrast to the background since it is white on black instead of black on white and the addition of the Adorable Array die (also from the December release) added the perfect amount of whimsy!  And of course, some Pretty Pink Posh sequins because why not??
