Happy Friday and welcome to my very first design team project for TupeloDesignsLLC! Last week I shared all the goodies I received in my design team package and now I get to show off how to use a couple of them in this simple one-layer card that packs a lot of punch!
I started by stamping the adorable teddy bear and sleigh from the WPlus9 Winter Pals stamp set that I received from TupeloDesignsLLC onto an A2 kraft card base. I then used my Prismacolor colored pencils to color in the image - I loved using the white pencil to turn the teddy bear into a polar bear for winter! The trick to getting beautiful, vibrant color on kraft with your Prismacolors is to use a lot of layers. Start with a light layer of your lightest shade and build on top of that. Applying the light shade first and then adding the brighter tones allows the colors to remain vivid. I am obsessed with how the image just pops off the page when it's all colored!
Next I used a Post-It note to do some very loose masking over my colored image while I applies some splatters using my brand spanking new Picket Fence Distress Spray Stain (also in my DT package!). I've wanted this for awhile and I'm super stoked to add white splatters to, well, EVERYTHING!! For this card I love how the white becomes the snowy background and really pops on the kraft.
I finished up with some white dashed lines and some sparkle using my Gelly Roll Stardust pens and this card is finished!! You should be sure to head over and check out what's happening at TupeloDesignsLLC right now - there is free shipping on orders over $15 for the month of December and some great sales on Christmas goodies! I've linked to all of the supplies used below as well as the video tutorial. Thanks so much for joining me and come back next Friday for the next project for TupeloDesignsLLC! Bye!
