VIDEO: Paper Smooches December Guest Designer ~ Week 2

Happy Hump Day!  I hope you're all having a holly jolly holiday season!  Today I have a project that is not related to any December festivities just to give you (and me) a little break.  I am sharing my second card as the December Guest Designer for Paper Smooches and I am particularly proud of this one.

I used the Love Word 2 die from Paper Smooches to cut out the adorable big word LOVE from some black cardstock, a Neenah 110lb cardstock panel, and some 4mm craft foam.  I used some StickIt on the back of the black cardstock to help make this super easy and let me tell ya, I am LOVING this stuff!!  I'm kind of kicking myself for not using it sooner!  It is a thin double sided sheet of adhesive that you can apply to the back of your cardstock and then die cut and just like that, your delicate, super intricate die cut already has a full layer of adhesive!  No messy liquid glue, just peel off the backing and you're good to go.  Crafting magic!!

Once the front panel for my card was die cut I used the Delightful Greetings stamp set from Paper Smooches and selectively inked the "you" from a "thank you" sentiment to finish off my custom greeting.  I then used my MISTI and the Charming Cascades stamp set from Close to My Heart to add some super subtle falling hearts to the background with clear glitter embossing powder.

The rest of the card came together easily by using the inlaid die cut technique to place the black outline "LOVE" on the front of the panel on top of the acetate and the craft foam "LOVE" on the back of the panel to create separate shaker pockets for each letter of the word.  For a better idea of how this came together, check out the video tutorial linked below.

I LOVE how this turned out and can't wait to try die cutting craft foam for some of my future projects.  The possibilities are endless!!  Thanks so much for joining me today and check back next week for my third project for Paper Smooches.  In the meantime, I'm hoping to get at least a couple more Handmade Holiday videos up, and my TupeloDesignsLLC design team project will be up on Friday.  So much crafty fun!  Have a fabulous evening and I'll catch you next time!  Bye!
